Bird nesting box’s fitted with a camera which is then connected to a viewing screen are very popular and can be a reasonably low cost beginning to wildlife viewing. Several box’s can be input to a switcher allowing each camera to be bypassed, held or sequenced and fed to a recording device and monitor. Bird feeders fitted with a camera are another fairly low cost introduction to wildlife viewing. A simple system could consist of a single nest box or feeder, which could be added to as time and funds permit, building up to a complex system with several feeders and or nest box’s.
