Wildlife Webcams

Here is a selection of video clips. The quality of the clips has been reduced to place them on the web. Actual “live” clips are of much better quality.

These frollicking Badgers were filmed when equipment was set up to find out what time they were coming to the surface. The recording equipment was triggered by the presence of the badgers and continued to record until they had retired to bed again.

This project shows a Hen Harrier feeding her chicks. The camera was fitted close to the nest and run several hundred yards to an area where the radio equipment was located. The radio link was several Kilometers. Solar power was used to power the site. Images are copyright and courtesy of RSPB Scotland.

This cliff top site utilises a fully controllable pan / tilt, zoom / focus camera to monitor Gannets and relay the pictures some 12 Km to a viewing centre via radio link. The remote end of the link is powered by a combination of wind and solar power, charging batteries. Images are copyright and courtesy of RSPB Scotland.

This video shows a remote site which is powered by wind generator and solar panels. A fully controllable camera is also shown. This is a very exposed site, so all equipment needs to be extremely well weather proofed. Lens washing equipment is planned for the next season.
